RG A98 Robert Black of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Salisbury
Description
St. Luke's was diverse congregation at its founding, where black and white members worshiped together. The first Archdeacon for Colored Work was ordained in the parish. Rev. Black is the current rector and researched the African American history of the parish, and lead the church in the work of racial reconciliation, including havings icons of black saints painted onto the walls of the nave.
