Thurgood Marshall, Jr. recently retired from his partnership in an international law firm, having practiced for many years with a specialty in campaign finance and regulation, and government relations. He has had a distinguished career both in public and private practice. He served as President Clinton’s White House Cabinet Secretary and as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the US Postal Service from 2011-2018 during both the Obama and the Trump administrations. He has also served on the boards of the Ford Foundation, the National Women’s Legal Center, the Campaign Legal Center, and the US Supreme Court Historical Society. He received both his Baccalaureate and his law degrees from The University of Virginia. He is married to Teddi Levy, and they have two children. Marshall is the son of the late US Supreme Court Associate Justice Thurgood Marshall, Sr., and the late Ms. Cecilia Suyat. He is a member of St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Washington, DC.
